ROY ROGERS WELCOMES TODD RESTAURANTS, INC. TO THE FAMILY!

Frederick, MD – May 4, 2004 – Roy Rogers Franchise Company, LLC, announced today that Todd Restaurants, Inc. has signed a new long-term pioneer franchise agreement for its four Roy Rogers locations in Alexandria, Virginia.

This new agreement follows the Plamondon Companies’ November 2003 announcement of the revitalization of the Roy Rogers brand with its purchase of the Roy Rogers trademark and franchise system.  The company has implemented an ambitious “Roy Rogers Rides Again” plan that includes marketing, operations and training programs for current franchisees as well as prospective franchisees.   Two existing franchisees have recently endorsed this new agreement.  They are Todd Restaurants, Inc., operating four Roy Rogers Restaurants in Alexandria, Virginia, and Gould Restaurants, Inc., operating two Roy Rogers Restaurants in southern Maryland.

In 1986, after a 17 year career with Marriott Corporation, Jim Todd, Sr., President of Todd Restaurants, Inc., opened his first two Roy Rogers franchise restaurants in Alexandria, Virginia.  From the onset, this was a “family business” with sons Jim and Jeff Todd fully involved with the operations of the restaurants.   January, 1997 brought the announcement of the McDonald’s acquisition of the company-owned Roy Rogers, with the intention to convert most locations.   As an independent franchisee and their dedication to the Roy Rogers brand, they decided to continue operating their restaurants as Roy Rogers with plans of growth for the future.  Today, they own and operate four Roy Rogers Restaurants – 7696 Richmond Hwy., Alexandria, VA; 8860 Richmond Hwy., Alexandria, VA; 1506 Belleview Blvd., Alexandria, VA and 7013-F Manchester Lakes Blvd., Franconia, VA.

Jim Plamondon, Co-President of Roy Rogers Franchise Company, stated, “We are pleased to have the Todd’s join our new program and continue operating their Roy Rogers Restaurants.  The Todd’s commitment to quality can be seen in their restaurants with cleanliness, friendly associates and delicious food, all strengths of Roy Rogers and what the chain represents.”  The Todd’s have carried this philosophy into the communities in which they serve.  Since January, 1996, Todd Restaurants Roy Rogers have sponsored a “School Night” program attended by students, parents and teachers, and a percentage of sales are donated to the designated school.  Since the beginning of this program, over $82,000 as been contributed to local schools.  They are also actively involved with community organizations such as “Meals on Wheels”.  Over the years, the Todd’s  have received several awards for the generosity and support.  They recently received the “Polin Award” sponsored by The Washington Wizards, for their outstanding dedication to the community.”
