FREDERICK, Maryland, June 7, 2004—Roy Rogers Restaurants announced today that Roy Rogers and Dale Evans oldest daughter, Cheryl Rogers-Barnett, will appear at three of its restaurants this week. Mrs. Rogers-Barnett will visit with guests, sign autographs and promote her new book, Cowboy Princess: Life with My Parents Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Her guest appearances are: Wednesday, June 9 from 11:30-1:30 at the 1990 Riverside Way Roy Rogers; Wednesday, June 9 from 4:30-6:30 at the Ballenger Creek Roy Rogers; and Thursday, June 10 from 11:30-1:30 at the 1240 West Patrick Street Roy Rogers.
Mrs. Rogers-Barnett is in Frederick for a Roy Rogers film festival and book signing at the Weinberg Center for the Arts scheduled for Friday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. The Weinberg Center will show a double feature: “Under the Western Stars” and “Meet Roy Rogers.” During Mrs. Rogers-Barnett’s restaurant appearances, guests will have the opportunity to win tickets to Friday night’s event.
Co-President, Jim Plamondon, stated “In 1968, when the Marriott Corporation launched the first Roy Rogers Restaurant, it chose the popular film cowboy Roy Rogers as its namesake because he personified the honest, wholesome image desired for the Roy Rogers brand. Moreover, the West’s reputation for good beef and ‘down home cooking’ fit the strategy of offering guests roast beef sandwiches, fried chicken and hamburgers with fresh, high-quality ingredients. As our family continues to carry on this tradition in the Roy Rogers Restaurants, so too has Cheryl Rogers-Barnett worked to promote her family’s values and beliefs throughout her life and work.
We look forward to Mrs. Rogers-Barnett’s visit. We encourage our guests and all Roy Rogers fans to stop by our restaurants and spend some time with her because an opportunity like this does not come along very often.”
The Plamondon Companies are the franchisor for Roy Rogers Restaurants and operate 15 corporate Roy Rogers Restaurants and 47 franchise locations.
