A "New" Roy Rogers Restaurant Comes to Westminster, Maryland
Frederick, MD, July 20, 2007 - "There's a new Roy in town," announces Roy Rogers Restaurants officials as the grand opening of its renewed Westminster, Maryland location is set.  Located at 6 Baltimore Boulevard, the grand opening scheduled for Thursday, June 26, 2007 will be marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony with Westminster city officials at 10:00 am.  Doors will officially open to the public beginning at 10:30 am.

"We are thrilled to be bringing our honest to goodness food back to Westminster," said Jim Plamondon, co-president, Roy Rogers Franchise Company and The Plamondon Companies.  "Our brand is known for its freshness and quality and we are pleased to be an active part of this community."

Formerly under different management, the grand opening celebrates the new ownership and management by The Plamondon Companies, the owners of Roy Rogers.  To celebrate the grand opening of its 52nd location, Roy Rogers will be giving the first 52 guests a Free Combo meal for a year (one per week for a total value of $360 per guest).

The restaurant has undergone an extensive renovation and will be managed by Julie Ross, a 20 year Manager of Roy Rogers.  Her team will include 2 managers and more than 40 associates from throughout the surrounding area.

Roy Rogers is known for its slow-cooked, USDA choice roast beef, freshly made chicken, great tasting burgers and choice of side dishes.  Unique to Roy Rogers is its Fixin's Bar, which features a dozen different condiments, like fresh lettuce, tomatoes and onions.  In addition to serving lunch and dinner, Roy Rogers offers breakfast items such as cream chipped beef, made from scratch pancakes and crescent sandwiches.  Other notable sandwiches include their recently released Large Roast Beef sandwich and the Gold Rush Chicken sandwich. In addition to Roy's famous Fixin's Bar, restaurant amenities include a drive-thru and flat screen TV.

Based in Frederick, Maryland, The Plamondon Companies own and operate 17 Roy Rogers Restaurants, 35 franchise locations and 4 Marriott hotel properties.  In 1980, The Plamondon Companies opened its doors with their first Roy Rogers restaurant. Today the group owns 17 of the existing 52 restaurants.  The company plans to continue its expansion and is committed to growth with plans to add about 4 restaurants - both corporate and franchise each year.  The company intends to maintain 15-20% as company-owned units, which will set the standard for the system.  Areas targeted for growth include Montgomery County, especially Germantown, Gaithersburg (where a new restaurant opened in 2004), Fairfax County, specifically the Dulles Corridor and possibly Arlington and Loundoun counties.
